Trevor Noah is a South African-born stand up comedian, television show host and actor. He’s the current host of ‘The Daily Show’ on Comedy Central. Noah was “born a crime” on February 20, 1984 in Johannesburg, South Africa. His mother, Patricia, is a black Xhosa woman, and his father, Robert, a white Swiss-German. The union of his interracial parents was illegal at the time under apartheid. Noah was raised by his mother and grandmother. He attended Maryvale College in Johannesburg.

CAREER
Noah cites his comedic influences as Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle. His first television appearance was a 2002 episode of the soap opera, Isidingo. He was 18 at the time. He later worked as a radio DJ. His early television credits include Run The Adventure, The Real Goboza and Siyadlala. Noah hosted 13 episodes of The Amazing Date in 2008. His stand-up special “The Daywalker” was released in 2009.

Noah hosted the 3rd Annual South Africa Film and Television Awards in 2009. He debuted his own talk show ‘Tonight With Trevor Noah’ the following year. The show ran from 2010 to 2011 for a total of 26 episodes. Noah held a supporting role as “Bookie” in the comedy film, Mad Buddies (2012). He followed up with the stand-up specials ‘African American’ and ‘It’s My Culture’ in 2013.

Noah made his U.S. television debut on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno in January 2012. He was featured on the Late Show with David Letterman in May 2013. Noah became a correspondent for The Daily Show With Jon Stewart in 2014. He began his tenure as the new host, executive producer and writer of The Daily Show in September 2015. Noah picked up 3 NAACP Image Award nominations in 2016 including one for Outstanding Host. He’s attracted a number of guests on the show ranging from comedian Kevin Hart to political commentator Tomi Lahren.

Trevor Noah is 5ft 11in tall and is of Swiss-German and Xhosa descent. In addition to English, he also speaks German, Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho and Afrikaans. Noah has an estimated net worth of $10 million. He’s reportedly dating pop singer Jordyn Taylor. The two met back in 2015.
